All of my shows have been resurfacing with FABULOUS end games, and it gives me hope for the future Most especially House and, surprisingly, Gossip Girl.

Ever since the Locked In episode, which I would argue makes it into the top five episodes of this show ever, House has been trucking it to make up for the huge drag in the beginning/middle of the season. The problem was that Talb, Kutner and Thirteen are simply not that interesting, which combined with cutting Cuddy off at the knees made for some pretty fucking boring episodes; the best parts of the episodes were the bits with Wilson and House bickering, and there were very few scenes of even that. Locked In represented everything that made the show fantastic: an interesting but not overly complicated case, a patient I cared about, an interesting course of treatment (HOW AWESOME WAS THAT COMPUTER THING), and a perspective that was not only not House's, but was super interesting. There were no boring bits in this episode, and ever since then House has been on the rise. The season finale was strong all the way through - even though I know the "checking into an asylum" thing will end the same way as the Tritter arc, since they can't rationally take away House's medical license. It was a PIMP SLAP to learn that he's really cracking, and they've hooked me again for another round.

As for Gossip Girl...the show has had a SHITTY season. Conspiracies I didn't care about, far-fetched bullshit dealing with characters I didn't give a shit about, and whole story lines that just weighed it down. The last four episodes, though, brought back Georgina Sparks and some much needed cattiness to the show - it's called GOSSIP Girl, for goodness sake. The writers also seemed to remember that the characters were, in fact, high school students, and rearranged itself accordingly The finale was the most satisfying thing I've seen in a while; watching Blair and Chuck fight may be hot, but it can only drag on for so long before it just gets tiresome. So ending the season with Chuck FINALLY telling her he loves her was pretty much perfect. Chuck is sexy when he's brooding, but even more so when he's smiling. Producers, take note!

Now I'm just sitting tight for season 2 of True Blood to start.......
